First Things

Drinking and thinking go together, do they not? Do we not have familiar phrases in language such as in vino veritas? Plato and Xenophon both wrote works of philosophy known as Symposium, which is a Greek word meaning "drinking party". Is it not fitting that today a "symposium" refers to an academic gathering?
Here at Philosopher Cocktails, a humble band of symposiasts strives to create cocktail recipes in honor of great thinkers in history. Our inaugural entry will be the Plato cocktial.
